The Questions Founders Ask First

8 answers
Who do you work with?

Founders and operators building software that has to hold up after launch — mostly seed to Series A, across the US, UK, Europe and Asia. We're a senior team, so the work suits people who want decisions explained rather than handed down.

What does it cost?

$8k covers the whole project — scope, build, deploy. If a lump sum is awkward, the same work is $1.5k a month across six months. There's no long-tail retainer attached — you're buying a finished project, not a seat.

Why is the monthly option more in total?

Because the money arrives later. Six months at $1.5k is $9k against $8k up front — that gap is the cost of spreading it, not a different service. The scope, the team and the deliverables are identical, so pick whichever suits your cash flow.

What does an engagement look like?

It starts with scope, not code. We map the problem, the constraints and what 'done' means, then agree it in writing before anything is built. From there we deliver in milestones with updates on a schedule, so you always know what's being worked on and what's next.

How is this different from hiring an agency?

Two things. Senior engineers do the work — there's no handoff to juniors after the pitch. And we document trade-offs as we go, so you inherit the reasoning behind the system, not just the system.

Do I own the code?

Yes. Source, infrastructure and documentation are yours. We write things down specifically so your team — or another team — can run it without us.

What happens when the project ends?

Delivery is a transition, not a cliff. That means a real handover: documentation, a walkthrough with whoever is taking it on, and support while they get comfortable. Some clients stay on for ongoing iteration; plenty don't, and that's a fine outcome.

How soon can you start?

We take on a small number of engagements at a time so the senior team stays on the work. Current availability is booking for q3 2026 — a 20-minute call is the fastest way to find out whether we're the right fit.
