The Problem

Pune's timber market is deeply fragmented, dozens of dealers operating out of physical shops with no online presence, no price transparency, and no delivery infrastructure. Contractors, fabricators, and interior designers waste hours traveling Tilak Road and Fatimanagar comparing stock and negotiating prices.

The opportunity: aggregate the city's best timber dealers into a single searchable online marketplace with same-day delivery, trade credit, and professional procurement UX, not a consumer shopping experience.

Constraints

• Search had to use trade vocabulary (species, grade, thickness, ISI cert), not generic e-commerce keywords.

• Trade credit checkout needed GSTIN capture and automated proforma invoice generation without a finance team.

• Same-day delivery SLA required real-time carrier availability checks via Shiprocket before order confirmation.

• Dealer CMS had to be self-serve, the operations team updates stock daily without developer help.

• B2B product pages needed to surface technical specifications before price, procurement buyers evaluate grade before cost.

How Nexolve Built It

Timber Link is a Next.js marketplace with a Supabase data layer. The key challenge was building a search experience that matched how timber professionals actually talk, by species, thickness, grade, and ISI certification, rather than generic e-commerce keyword search.

   Self-serve dealer CMS

   Dealers list inventory through a self-serve CMS that captures material type, thickness, grade, finish, ISI certification, and available quantity per SKU. The Timber Link team can update stock without developer involvement.

   Full-text search with tsvector

   A PostgreSQL tsvector full-text search index allows buyers to search by material name, thickness, grade, or brand, matching the vocabulary timber professionals actually use rather than generic keyword matching.

   B2B trade credit checkout

   The trade credit flow captures GSTIN, business name, and PAN at checkout. The order is routed to the dealer's fulfilment queue and a proforma invoice generated automatically for net-30 settlement, reducing friction for contractor and fabricator buyers.

   Same-day Shiprocket logistics

   Shiprocket API integration fetches real-time delivery estimates from multiple carriers and generates dispatch labels for same-day fulfilment from the dealer's warehouse to the customer's site within Pune and PCMC.

   B2B product layout optimised for procurement

   Product pages surface ISI certification, brand, grade, and specification table before price, reflecting how procurement buyers evaluate timber purchases. Marketing copy is secondary to technical specification.
